Ammo-82 U.S. Army Explosives Safety Quantity Distance and Site Planning (CERT) (4E-F24/431-F8)
Description: This course satisfies mandatory training requirements for the certification of personnel responsible for applying Explosives Safety Quantity Distance (ESQD) concepts and site planning requirements to US Army Ammunition and Explosives (A&E) facilities as prescribed by DESR 6055.09, DoDI 5160.68, AR 385-10, and DA PAM 385-64. This course provides a comprehensive review of regulations governing ESQD concepts and practices, as well as technical training in interpreting and applying ESQD tables and explosives safety considerations not directly outlined in ESQD tables, determining safe distance measurement points, managing previously determined explosives limits, and properly preparing site approval documentation. Students will receive hands-on training in developing an Explosives Safety Site Plan package using ESQD calculations, scenarios, maps, waivers, and current DoD and DA guidance.
Length: 2 Weeks
Audience: Target audience is personnel responsible for applying ESQD concepts and site planning requirements to US Army A&E facilities who require certification training as prescribed by DESR 6055.09, DoDI 5160.68, AR 385-10, and DA PAM 385- 64, and for Logistics Functional Community Fellows as prescribed by AR 690-50.
Prerequisites: Completion of Course No. 9E-F67/920-F35 (DL), INTRODUCTION TO AMMUNITION (CERT), offered by the Defense Ammunition Center (DAC) via distance learning (DL) is highly recommended for personnel not enrolled in the Logistics Functional Community.
Security Clearance: None required. NOTE: This course is rated FD3 and is not available to International Military Students.

The IACET Standard: DAC has been approved by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) as an Authorized Provider of Continuing Education Units (CEUs). In obtaining this accreditation, the Defense Ammunition Center has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET Standard which is recognized internationally as a standard of good practice. The DAC awards 7.5 Continuing Education Units(CEUs) on the course certificate for successful completion of this course.
