Description: This course provides technical personnel with a basic knowledge of small arms ammunition. This course will define small arms ammunition as well as associated terminology. This course will introduce the general components and types of small arms ammunition items. Marking, color coding, and packing specifications inherent to small arms ammunition items will also be addressed.

Audience: This course is intended for those who require a fundamental understanding of small arms ammunition. Completion of Ammo-77-CPE-DL (Characteristics of Propellant and Explosives) is recommended.

Length: Approximately 4 hours (self-paced learning)

Special Information: This course is provided as a web-based course. Students must have web access, a CAC card, and an AKO account. Students must register through ATRRS for course credit. It is recommended that you have a high-speed Internet connection in order to view the course.
