Description: This course provides technical personnel with a basic knowledge of the properties of propellants and explosives used in ammunition items. This course introduces the basic terminology associated with explosives, propellants, and ammunition items. This course also covers the major categories and characteristics of high and low explosives and chemical ammunition fillers.

Audience: This course is intended for those who require a fundamental understanding of propellants and explosives used in ammunition items.

Length: Approximately 3 hours (self-paced learning)

Special Information: This course is provided as a web-based course. Students must have web access, a CAC card, and an AKO account. Students must register through ATRRS for course credit. It is recommended that you have a high-speed Internet connection in order to view the course.
