Ammo-67-DL HAZMAT Familiarization/Safety in Trans (Cert) (9E-F69/920-F37 (DL))
Description: This course satisfies general awareness/familiarization and safety training requirements for HAZMAT personnel who require training in the areas specified in 49 CFR, Section 172.704, as well as Military, civilian, and contractor personnel (at any grade level) who require training to fulfill the duties associated with hazardous materials transportation. Course content includes a comprehensive review of the nine hazard classes and documentation pertinent to hazardous material shipments. United States regulations include the Department of Transportation (DOT) 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), as well as U.S. Military regulations. Course topics emphasize vehicle inspections, hazardous materials, Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), Joint Hazard Classification System (JHCS) data sheets, the HAZMAT Table, communication, security, and the Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG).
Audience: Per 49 CFR, Section 171.8, "HAZMAT employees" who require general awareness/familiarization and safety training in the areas prescribed by 49 CFR, Section 172.704, and Military, civilian, and contractor personnel (at any grade level) who require training to fulfill the duties associated with hazardous materials transportation.

Special Information: This course is considered certification training for HAZMAT personnel as prescribed by DoD 4500.09-R, DoDI 5160.68, 49 CFR, IMDG, IATA, and AFMAN 24-204-IP. Training must be completed every two years to retain certification.
This course is a web-based (online) course. Students must have web access and a CAC card. Students must register through ATRRS for course credit. A high-speed Internet connection is recommended to complete the course. Students such as contractors without a CAC, Local Nationals, and non-Army personnel without a full-use CAC must receive sponsorship in the ICAM system in order to complete training in the Army Learning Management System (ALMS).
